The Lanakila Kitchen Team
The Lanakila Kitchen team is lead by Director, Terry Leong, RD, Manager and Chef, Frank Chun and Chef
Alan Cabebe. When the opportunity to help develop Lanakila Kitchen came along, they jumped at the
chance to help make a difference in the community. Their team brings more than 75 years of combined
culinary and catering expertise to the business.
Terry Leong is a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelors of Science in Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics
from the University of California, Berkeley, with over 20 years experience as a Dietitian Consultant. Prior
to coming to Lanakila Kitchen, she worked as the Food & Nutrition Manager at the Rehabilitation Hospital
of the Pacific. Her driving passion for nutrition brought her to Lanakila Kitchen, where she oversees all areas
of the operation and business development, to help meet the growing demand for healthier food services for
not only Lanakila Meals on Wheels but for schools and care centers.
Lanakila Kitchen Chef Frank Chun had the pleasure of growing up in Hawaii, where there is an exciting
diversity of ingredients and cusines. He began his restaurant career in 1987 with the Marine Corps Base
Hawaii. Today, he is a guiding force for Lanakila Kitchen's catering and meal service, creating nutritious and
delicious recipes with fresh, local ingredients reflecting the diversity of the islands. His quest is inspired by
the support provided to Lanakila Meals on Wheels which provides 28,000 meals every month for our seniors.
Lanakila Kitchen Chef Alan Cabebe was born and raised on the Island of Maui, where his desire to enhance
his cooking repertoire took him to the Maui Community College Culinary Program. After completing his
professional training, he became a cook at many of our famous hotels: Hotel Hana Maui, the Hyatt Regency
and the Inter-Continental, to name a few. After hs stint in the islands, he was called to Las Vegas, where he
ran the famous Seafood Buffet at the RIO Hotel. He also served as Executive Chef at three fine dining
restaurants. Now, with 20 plus years under his belt, he brings his creativity and his passion for cooking to
Lanakila Kitchen. It is here where he shares his compassion for serving people in need in Hawaii.
